The azure waters off Mirissa in southern Sri Lanka are home to the magnificent Blue Whale, the largest living creature on Earth, accompanied by its smaller counterparts such as sperm whales, fin whales, Bryde’s whales, short-finned whales, dolphins, and occasionally killer whales and whale sharks. These giants grace the waters off Mirissa, from November to April when the sea is calm, aligning with the migration of whales from the southern to the northern hemisphere.
